A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE ON CYBER SECURITY
Iran establishes a base for uranium enrichment in 2008 and starts its work there. For this, many technical materials have been taken from outside. In order to prevent any attack, the system does not have any internet connection, and the entrance and exit to the region are protected by high-level security measures.
In order to undermine Iran's work on this issue, intelligence agencies make a plan and design a virus to crash the system and copy it to flash drives. They identify many people working on uranium enrichment and put USBs in places that are among their routines in a way that does not disturb the flow of life (as if lost).
And one day, someone working there finds a USB that they thought was lost...
Then…
This person starts using this USB in their own business. When he needed a USB to get information on uranium production, he said that I have a flash drive and plugged it into the system, the system was infected with a virus.
This virus has such an architecture that it shows the system as if there is no glitch and gives the image that the system is working without any errors. And after a long time they realize that there is an error in the system, but it's too late.
This big investment of Iran is now unusable.
Here is the most important lesson to be learned.
Do not use a USB that you do not know and have not scanned.
Even if you take as many precautions as you want, be aware of the difficulty of controlling the human factor.
