How many angel investors are accredited in Turkey?
The accreditation process is carried out by the Ministry of the Treasury, General Directorate of Financial Markets and Foreign Exchange. Accreditation is also carried out according to the Individual Participation Capital (BKS) regulation. According to official figures;
As of May 2022, 734 licenses have been granted in Turkey so far. Of these, 349 are active.
So what is this number in the EU and the USA?
It is approximately 500,000 in the EU and 400,000 in the USA.
Considering the number of angel investors on the basis of provinces in Turkey;
Istanbul: 548
Ankara: 62
Izmir: 48
Kayseri: 46
Bursa: 19
Kocaeli: 10
Other provinces: 29
An investment was made by an Angel Investor for the first time in June 2013.
To date, 21.36 million TL has been invested by 158 Angel Investors for 50 investments.
