What is LMS ?
LMS as a concept: It is the general name of web software designed to perform distance education activities. For a better understanding of the e-learning world, I will tell you what is and what is useful on our blog page.
I will share the basic features of the LMS system with you.
Presenting learning material,
Sharing and discussing the presented learning material,
Managing lessons,
take homework,
Taking exams and providing feedback on assignments and exams
Organizing learning materials,
Keeping teacher, student and system records,
Performing functions such as receiving reports is the main task of learning base systems.
Now let's take a look at the components that should be found;
RECORD; It is the component that will include the individuals who will participate in the education-teaching activities in the system and where basic information about the learners is obtained.
CONTENT PRESENTATION; It is the component that contains the administrative features required for all teaching-learning activities.
ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION; It is the component in which the evaluation (exam) to be made as a result of the learning-teaching activity is prepared and applied.
REPORTING; It is the component that presents the data about the entire education-training process to the learners, teachers and system administrators by adhering to various criteria.
How does LMS work?
LMS makes e-learning and hybrid processes more efficient and makes it easier to systematically monitor and manage training activities.
These software basically have two interfaces:
The "admin" interface used by the person, institution or company providing the training,
"user" interface that trainees enter with their usernames and passwords.
In this way, the user can see the training assigned to him and receive online training whenever and wherever he wants, in accordance with the conditions determined by the admin. With the LMS platform, admins can easily access data such as who attended the training and when, who completed the training, who stayed online for how many minutes, which e-trainings they received, or which questions they answered correctly.
So, as you can understand, the most basic task of LMS is actually reporting.
